In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Kailua Village Artists, all members will feature Kona Coast-themed art in various media. The artists cooperative galleries at Alii Sunset Plaza and the Outrigger Keauhou Beach Resort will display the art through May.
In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Kailua Village Artists, all members will feature Kona Coast-themed art in various media. The artists cooperative galleries at Alii Sunset Plaza and the Outrigger Keauhou Beach Resort will display the art through May.
The galleries feature an eclectic display of original works by the group’s 14 member artists:
c Stefanie Culbertson paints in watercolor and works in digital design.
c Barbara Denman paints in acrylic, mixed media and watercolor. She also specializes in umeke pawahe gourd design.
c Felicia Fry, the last original founding member, has painted in watercolors.
c Betty Gerstner creates and hand paints porcelain vases and bowls. She also paints wildlife and scenery in watercolor.
c Cynthia Hankins specializes in photography.
c Bill Jaeger works with stained glass, creating colorful panels and boxes.
c Kathleen Jaeger paints in acrylic and mixed media. She creates mosaic mirrors, bowls and sculptural pieces.
c Gay Jensen has been with the group more than 20 years and paints in watercolor and oil.
c Marilyn Koschella paints in oil.
c Teva Revanui paints in pastel, watercolor and digitally.
c Richard Rochkovsky is a plein air painter.
c Linda Savell works in ceramics and is known for her fish series and spirit rattles and her diachronic glass jewelry.
c Stacey Siegel creates hand-blown glass beads, vases and perfume bottles.
c Gail Yasin paints in gouache scenery.
The gallery at Alii Sunset Plaza is open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and the Outrigger Keauhou Beach Resort gallery is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Call 329-6653 or 324-7060 for more information.
